NIYS Symphonic Band

Welcome to our inaugural year for the NIYS Symphonic Band. We are ecstatic to provide an ensemble tailored to the wind and percussion player. The addition of a new symphonic band marks an exciting and meaningful milestone for NIYS. It represents not only growth, but also a deepening of our commitment to musical excellence, accessibility, and artistic opportunity. With its diverse instrumentation and expansive repertoire, it offers students the chance to experience everything from bold, dramatic works to delicate and expressive pieces. Just as importantly, it fosters teamwork, discipline, and creativity—qualities that extend far beyond the stage. Midway through the year, the band will join forces with our string orchestras, creating a full symphonic ensemble. This collaboration will give students the invaluable experience of performing in a symphony. Together, these ensembles will inspire one another and elevate the musical experience for both performers and audiences alike.

The Symphonic Band welcomes all wind and percussion players. Audition is required for chair placement.
